Option Grouping
Here you will learn about category grouping.
Option Grouping
Option Grouping allows you to connect certain options in your product options to specific quantities. This would allow you to do things such as make it so that only orders of 500 or more business cards can quality for UV coating, or that only orders of 2500 or below qualify for same day printing. At the moment you can only associate quantities with specific groups. (i.e: You can set different groups for 500, 1000 and 2500, but not 14pt and 16pt papers.)
Step-by-step guide
Login to your administration panel admin.yourwebsiteaddress.com
Click "Catalog" on the left hand navigation
Click On “View Products” in the category of the item you wish to edit
Click on “Manage This Product” button next to the item you wish to edit.
In the Standard Options - Quantity section, you will see a column that says Groups and contains a dropdown option. This is how you associate the group. If it says 1 then it is Group 1. If it says 2 then it is Group 2. Multiple items may be associate with a single group but only one group may be associated per quantity.
In any other Option the Group Dropdown allows you to select from any available groups. You can hold CTRL and click to select multiple groups. Every group you want associated with that option should be selected. If there is no special requirement you can select Any.
Category groups are not mandatory but assist in organizing categories.
