Here you will learn how to connect your FedEx account with our software . You will be able to get your rates as well as generate shipping labels.live FedEx rates from your account. (There are additional steps for creating shipping labels here, but before moving on please complete this setup guide first before the shipping labels guide.)

FedEx Step-by-step guide

  1. Go to the FedEx Developer Center for FedEx Web Services.

  2. Click Move to Production. FedEx offers both Test and Production modes for your shipments. Select Get Production Key.

  3. Click on "Get Production Key."

  4. On the Application Profile step, enter the options as you see in the screenshot below. Make sure to choose Corporate Developer as your role. Click Continue.

  5. Accept the License Agreement and click Continue.

  6. On the Contact Info step, enter your FedEx account number and confirm your contact info.  Click Continue.

  7. On the Developer Info step, decide if you want to update your contact info. Click Continue.

  8. After submitting this data, you will receive your FedEx Meter Number.

  9. Go back to your AutoPrint admin Settings > Settings Categories > Shipping Settings. Enter both your account number and your meter number for FedExBackup current FedEx API credentials

    1. You can skip this step if you are creating API keys for the first time and do not have any set in your website administration.

    2. If you are upgrading API credentials, backup your current FedEx Account Number, FedEx API Key and FedEx API Secret Key from AutoPrint Website Admin Settings > Settings Categories > Shipping Settings > General Shipping in a safe place in case you need to revert to the legacy keys so you do not lose that information.

  10. Log into the FedEx Developer Portal: https://developer.fedex.com/api/en-us/home.html

  11. Create An Organization

    1. Click on “Create An Organization”

    2. Follow the number steps in the screenshot below to create your organization. In step #1 Choose "Ships with FedEx and needs to integrate FedEx APIs into their system."

  12. Create A Project

    1. Click on “Create A Project” and then follow the steps in the screenshots highlighted below.

    3. Click the “Production Key” tab to change to the Production Key and create an API Key for your FedEx account. You will need to add your account to the API first if it has not been added already.

  13. The final page will display your API Key and Secret Key.

    1. Copy them and store them in a safe place, you can log back in and see them again if you need them in the future.

IMPORTANT: If you print labels from the system currently you will need to wait to set your API keys within your administration panel of your AutoPrint website until step #6 of the label printing guide here. You can temporarily set the API Key information when creating the test label on step #6.

    If you are not printing labels and using the FedEx API only for shipping quotes, go to your AutoPrint Website Admin Settings > Settings Categories > Shipping Settings > General Shipping and enter your FedEx Account Number, FedEx API Key and FedEx API Secret Key.

Note

Please note that beginning May 2024, authentication to FedEx APIs using access keys will be deprecated in favor of an OAuth 2.0 security model.

OAuth replaces access keys with a FedEx Key and FedEx Password for authentication & New OAuth credentials must be created on the FedEx Developer Portal.
