License Types Explained
Applies To: [ All Licenses ]
Overview
The Software offers six license types organized by role (Hub vs. child storefront) and tier (full-featured vs. Basic). This article explains what each license type is, what it can do, and how they relate to one another.
The Six License Types
License Type | Tier | Role | Product Catalog |
|---|---|---|---|
Hub | Full | Hub | Owner |
Auto Push | Full | Child Storefront | Inherited |
Manual Push | Full | Child Storefront | Inherited |
Basic Hub | Basic | Hub | Owner |
Basic Auto Push | Basic | Child Storefront | Inherited |
Basic Manual Push | Basic | Child Storefront | Inherited |
Hub
The Hub is the top of the hierarchy. A Hub license controls one or more child storefronts, manages the master catalog, and can push products, pricing, and settings downstream. Hubs have full ecommerce capabilities and access to all platform features.
Auto Push
An Auto Push storefront is a child storefront that receives catalog and pricing updates automatically from its Hub. It has full ecommerce capabilities and operates largely in sync with its Hub without manual intervention.
Manual Push
A Manual Push storefront is a child storefront that receives updates from its Hub only when the Hub operator explicitly pushes them. This gives Hub operators precise control over when each child storefront's catalog and pricing changes. Full ecommerce capabilities apply.
Basic Hub
A Basic Hub has the same hierarchical control as a full Hub but with limited ecommerce functionality. The catalog is not fully activated and site capabilities are restricted. Suited for operators who manage child storefronts but do not need a fully active storefront of their own.
Basic Auto Push
A Basic Auto Push storefront receives automatic updates from its Hub like a standard Auto Push license, but has limited ecommerce functionality. The catalog is not fully activated and site capabilities are restricted.
Basic Manual Push
A Basic Manual Push storefront receives updates only when manually pushed by the Hub, with the same limited ecommerce restrictions as other Basic tier licenses.

Notes / Tips
Hub Only: Only Hub and Basic Hub licenses can create and manage child storefronts. Storefront-role licenses cannot manage other storefronts.
Basic licenses: Basic tier licenses have restricted site ability and the catalog is not fully activated. Contact your Account Sales Manager (ASM) to upgrade.
Sync mode: Auto-sync licenses receive catalog changes automatically when the Hub publishes them. Manual Push licenses only receive changes when the Hub operator explicitly initiates a push.
