Overview

This article explains how to connect your storefront to Google Analytics for traffic and conversion tracking, and how to configure the sitemap and basic SEO tools available in the Software.

Connecting Google Analytics

Step 1 — Get Your Google Analytics Tracking ID or Measurement ID

  1. Log in to your Google Analytics account at analytics.google.com.

  2. Navigate to Admin > Property Settings.

  3. For GA4, copy your Measurement ID (format: G-XXXXXXXXXX).

  4. For Universal Analytics (legacy), copy your Tracking ID (format: UA-XXXXXXX-X).

Step 2 — Enter the ID in the Software

  1. Log in to your administration panel at admin.yourwebsiteaddress.com.

  2. Navigate to Settings > Integration Settings.

  3. Locate the Google Analytics field and paste your Measurement ID or Tracking ID.

  4. Click Save.

Step 3 — Verify Tracking Is Active

  1. Open your storefront in a browser tab.

  2. In Google Analytics, navigate to Reports > Realtime.

  3. Confirm your visit is showing as active. This may take a minute or two to reflect.

Google Search Console Setup

Google Search Console (formerly Webmaster Tools) allows you to monitor your site's search performance and submit your sitemap.

  1. Go to search.google.com/search-console.

  2. Add your storefront's domain as a property.

  3. Verify ownership using the HTML tag or DNS record method (see Setup Google Search Console for full instructions).

  4. Once verified, submit your sitemap URL (typically store.yourwebsiteaddress.com/sitemap.xml).

Meta Data and SEO Settings

The Software allows you to set meta titles, descriptions, and keywords at the product and page level for SEO purposes.

For products:

  1. Open the product in the admin under Catalog.

  2. Scroll to the Meta Keywords and Meta Description fields.

  3. Enter relevant, keyword-rich content and save.

See Product SEO Content for detailed guidance.

For CMS pages:

  1. Navigate to Storefront CMS > CMS Features > Website Pages and open the page.

  2. Edit the Meta Title, Meta Description, and Meta Keywords fields.

  3. Save the page.

See Meta Data.

Notes / Tips

  • Google Analytics tracking will not fire on admin pages — only on the customer-facing storefront.

  • Use Google Search Console to identify crawl errors and monitor which pages are indexed. Submit a fresh sitemap after adding significant new content.

  • Meta descriptions do not directly affect rankings but influence click-through rates in search results. Keep them concise and action-oriented (under 160 characters).
